You must be a current member of WMSHP to join the group. It is not open to the general public. Membership in the group is an optional benefit of membership included in the membership fee..
You can subscribe to a group through our web interface or via email. To subscribe to a group through our web interface, simply log in to your Google Account and visit the group of your choice. Then click the "Join this group" link on the right-hand side of the page under "About this group." To subscribe to a group via email, send an email to [Groupname]+subscribe@googlegroups.com. For example, if you wanted to join a group called google-friends, you'd send an email to wmshpgroups+subscribe@googlegroups.com
Note: for restricted-membership groups, the group owner will need to approve your subscription request before you can join..
There are a few basic rules I would like to have everyone follow to maintain harmony on the list. While these involve common courtesy I will state them for the record. Offenders will be immediately removed from the list at my sole discretion.
- Please avoid any foul language on the list.
- Please do not spam the list with overty commercial messages.
- Please do not downgrade any other human being.
- Help WMSHP moderate this list by contacting the List owner at wmshpgroups@googlegroups.com in regards to anything that you find especially offensive.
- Remember that this is a public forum and individual person to person communications should generally be avoided if it is not of interest to all members of the list..
To Post a message to the list, send an e-mail to: wmshpgroups@googlegroups.com
Yes, there are a couple ways in which posting frequency is limited. One limit is the number of messages posted to any single group within a short period of time. We also limit the number of messages a single user or computer can post via our website in a short period of time.
If you reach the first limit, your posting ability will be frozen and you'll be notified via email. The email will look something like this message:
Your message could not be posted to the [groupname] group because there have been too many messages posted to the group recently.
If you run into the second limit, you'll see a notification directly on the Groups interface.
Please note that we're unable to provide the exact numbers that trigger these posting limits as they are something we manipulate for spam fighting purposes.
New Google Groups features and improvements include:
- Superior user interface: Easily navigate your way through different groups and pages.
- Customizable Group creation: Select a color theme for your group, upload a group logo, customize your group's navigation links, or publish a welcome message.
- Collaborative page creation: Create pages with your group members, or comment on existing pages.
- File storage: Upload and manage group files.
- Visible member list: If you're a group owner, choose whether to display your current group members to the rest of the group.
- Profile photo: Add your favorite photo to your personal Google Groups profile.
- Group and profile stats: View interesting statistics on your groups' activity and your posting/content activity.
You can unsubscribe from a group through our web interface or via email. To unsubscribe from a group through our web interface, just click the "Edit my membership" link on the right-hand side of the group's homepage. Then click the "Unsubscribe" button on the page that appears.
To unsubscribe from a group via email, send an email to GroupName+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. For example, if you wanted to leave google-friends, you'd send an email to google-wmshpgroups+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com
Please note: If you unsubscribe from a group that only allows members to see group content, you may not be able to read that group's pages anymore. If you want to continue your membership in a group, but don't want to receive group email, select the "No Email" option on the left side of the Edit My Membership page and click "Save these settings."
You can reach a group owner by clicking the "About this group" link on the right side of any of the group's pages. (Alternatively, you can click on the "More group info" link on the right side of the page in the "Group info" box). On this About page, click the "Send email to the owner" link. You'll see a web form to submit your message. We'll then forward any message sent through this form to the group's owner.
